2009 Mid Term Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians

We are now almost halfway through the school year. Although the half term is very short, only one day to be with your children extra, it is a time for you to catch up comfortably with what has been going on with their lives while at Imani.

It has been a very busy six weeks and the balance of the term will be the same. Your child is returning with a “Plant a tree for charity” sponsorship form. Instead of having a walk, the students thought it would be better for the environment to plant a tree. So please assist your child in raising funds for this cause. We would like each child to return with at least sponsorship of Kshs. 2,000/=. The tree planting will take place on the 24th of March but we also require them to be in school on the 21st to dig the holes and prepare the area. Please join us if you are able on either day.

Due to the current famine within the country, our students have agreed to give up their lunch and donate this money for the purpose of assisting in this relief programme. The day students would be requested to donate Kshs. 150/=.

International Night is upon us once more. Mark your calendars for Saturday evening, 21st February beginning at 7.00 p.m. sharp.

The Whole School Swimming Gala has been postponed until 18th March 2009. So please change your calendar concerning this.

School will close this term at 12.00 noon on Friday 27th March and re-open for Boarding Students on Sunday 19th April. Classes will begin on Monday 20th April. The final day of the school year will be Friday 3rd July.

The Imani School Hockey and Basketball Tournament will take place on the 14th of March. Please come and watch your child and the school play.

Some students have still not collected their school ID and class pictures. Please give your child Kshs. 500/= to cover this package.

We have reverted to sending the newsletter this way as many of you have not been receiving the email correspondence. We hope to solve this “glitch” and will return to the electronic method as soon as possible.

Imani is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2009. If you have any ideas of how we can/should do it, please feel free to discuss with me.
