Imani School Pre-Prep Section

We follow the British National Curriculum which is challenging and focuses on the whole development of the child, aiming to equip every pupil with the essential skills for lifelong learning.  Our classes are from 2 to 7 years of age:

• Playgroup
• Nursery
• Reception
• Year 1
• Year 2

We take children in our Playgroup as young 2 years of age which helps our working Mums.  The children on completion of Year 2 when they are 7 years sit the British Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs) which enables us to monitor their level of academic achievement.  

The following activities are included in our weekly timetable

• I.C.T.
• Physical education
• Cross Country
• Swimming (one of our 6 year old boys is the champion of NASA)
• Music
• Pony riding
• At a minimal cost we offer the following extra activities
• Taikwondo
• Football (the coach is from Harambee Stars)
• Speech/Drama with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA)

Meals

All children are provided with a mid-morning snack and a nutritious child friendly lunch, however, this is optional.

• Talks, we invite guest speakers (this week the Kenya Red Cross are giving a talk to the children on Famine in Kenya)
